ALLEGRA
JEWELLERY DESIGNER
While expressing myself through writing is an obstacle that I face every day, art and design is the language through which I find a confidence of my own. To me art is crystal clear, there are no compromises or misunderstanding.
Born and raised in Florence my education in art is classical. I now live and design my collections in London where my creativity is influenced by a more eclectic and innovative environment. My inspiration comes from a combination of my classical background and my new experiences.
In my years at Central St. Martins, where I studied Jewellery Design, my work has developed a constant theme: architecture and geometry.
I enjoy working with defined lines and structures, associating elements to create repetitive forms and clean aesthetics. Small details are what makes my pieces.
I seek to create wearable sculptures, timeless jewellery that will be remembered for its innovative design. The kind that makes a statement which defines an individual when worn.
All my jewellery is handmade in Florence, Italy at one of the oldest goldsmiths of the city where I have at my disposal the expertise of skilled artisans.
DIAMANTE
NOT A JEWELLERY DESIGNER
I do everything else. I specialise in replying to Allegra's personal emails.
As you might have gathered from the looks, we are sisters. She stole all the creative genes and left me with the sporty ones. Since I did not grow up to be a table tennis Olympic champion, it is safe to say that she owes me.
The art of jewellery fascinates me because of the meaning that every accessory acquires when worn.
It is not a necessity but a choice - a luxury. It is the loudest visual statement that has the ability to shape, complete and reinforce your personality and image. It is the easiest way of speaking about yourself without using words. It is the most effective mean to fit in a reality that does not belong to your own. It is a symbol that underlines a status.
Only the jewellery with a story to tell becomes ambassador of qualities and values. And ours has a pretty damn interesting one.
It is my job to explain the intrinsic value of Allegra's creations to you. To give you the chance to appreciate her jewellery looking beyond its outstanding aesthetics.
My story is history and the interesting bit is yet to happen.
